A train journey on the Cianjur-Sukabumi route was cancelled due to a landslide on the connecting track at Cipatat Station in West Bandung Regency (KBB). As many as 727 passengers have cancelled their trips since the natural disaster incident occurred on Sunday night (19/4/2026). The landslide occurred between KM 73+900 and 74+00 on the Cibeber-Lampegan section. The cancelled train services include KA Siliwangi 345, KA Siliwangi 342 on the Sukabumi-Cianjur route, KA 341 on the Cianjur-Sukabumi route, and KA 344 on the Sukabumi-Cianjur route. “Up to now, 727 passengers have been recorded as having cancelled since last night. All are on the Cianjur-Sukabumi route,” said the Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardoyo, when contacted on Monday (20/4/2026). The cancellations were made because, based on inspection results, officers found that the rail track structure was not up to standard and posed a potential danger to train travel safety. “Based on the examination results, it was stated that the track is temporarily unsafe for train travel,” he explained. Kuswardoyo said that for ticket refunds, the public can do so through the PT KAI application. The company also expressed apologies for the disruption to train services due to this natural disaster. “Yes, cancellations can be made 24/7 from the time of the incident. We apologise profusely for the inconvenience caused by the natural disturbance that resulted in erosion at the location,” he said. Kuswardoyo explained that the length of the erosion—or the condition of the soil or embankment under the railway track that has been eroded, landslides, or holed due to water flow—reaches 12 metres in length and 4 metres in depth. Thus, the track inspection results indicate that it is currently unsafe for trains to pass. Officers are still at the location to handle the landslide impact. “We had to cancel to ensure the safety of train travel and, of course, the safety of train users. Our team is currently continuing efforts to make the location passable as soon as possible,” he stated.
