Over 60 automotive brands confirmed for GIIAS 2026
JAKarta - The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 is set to be more vibrant. As of May 2026, over 60 global automotive brands have confirmed their participation. The list of participating brands is diverse, including manufacturers from Japan, South Korea, Europe, the United States, and new Chinese brands that have aggressively entered the Indonesian market in recent years. Gaikindo Chairman Putu Juli Ardika stated that the influx of new brands is a positive signal for the Indonesian automotive industry’s development. He added that Gaikindo encourages these new brands not only to sell vehicles but also to establish production facilities in Indonesia. “Producing vehicles locally will strengthen the national industry structure, create jobs, and drive exports from Indonesia to global markets,” he said. Passenger car brands confirmed include Aletra, Audi, BAIC, BAW, BMW, BYD, Changan, Chery, Citroen, Daihatsu, DFSK, Ford, GAC Indonesia, Geely, GWM, Honda, Hyundai, Icar, Jaecoo, Jeep, Jetour, KIA, Leap Motor, Lepas, Lexus, Maxus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz,MG, MINI, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Polytron, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, VinFast, Volkswagen, Volvo, Wuling, and Xpeng. Commercial vehicle participants include DFSK, Farizon, Hino, Isuzu, Mitsubishi Fuso, and UD Trucks. Meanwhile, in the coachbuilding sector, four prominent Indonesian firms are confirmed: Adiputro, Laksana, New Armada, and Tentrem. Gaikindo said the number of participants could still increase as the event approaches, indicating Indonesia’s automotive market remains attractive to global players, even amid the transition to electric and environmentally friendly vehicles.
