Over 40,000 discounted train tickets available with 30% off for post-Eid travel

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has announced the availability of more than 40,000 train tickets with a special 30% discount for the public for journeys after Eid up to 29 March 2026. This programme is part of the government’s economic stimulus for economy commercial class during the 2026 Eid Transport period. “From 14 March to 29 March, there is a transport discount, this is a government economic stimulus programme of 30% for economy commercial class,” said Manager of Public Relations for PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, at Pasar Senen Station on Friday. The provision of this price cut aims to provide ease of transportation access for the public amid the high demand for Eid tickets. “There are around more than 40,000 tickets that the public can still obtain in the Daop 1 Jakarta region,” he said. In addition to discounted tickets, Franoto also assured that the availability of tickets for post-Eid departures is still very sufficient. Based on data as of 20 March, more than 300,000 seats are available for the travel period starting 21 March to 1 April 2026. The public is urged to immediately plan their journeys and book tickets through the Access by KAI application or other official channels. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI)’s step to provide promotional fare tickets and abundant reserve seats is hoped to alleviate passenger concentration on Eid H-day, while attracting residents to travel outside the peak mudik dates.
