BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – More than two million vehicles have been recorded returning to Jakarta until Wednesday afternoon (25/3/2026), as the Lebaran return flow continues. The peak return flow is estimated to occur on 28–29 March 2026. Indonesian Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the total number of vehicles entering Jakarta has reached around 2.04 million units. “Thus, the total is approximately 2.04 million that have entered Jakarta,” said Listyo, when met at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Centre office on Wednesday (25/3/2026). He detailed that 82,000 vehicles entered Jakarta by Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, by Tuesday night, the number of returning vehicles was recorded at 1,958,838 units. Nevertheless, around 481,229 vehicles have yet to return to Jakarta and will be the focus of traffic management in the coming days. Meanwhile, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi predicted that the peak return flow will still occur on 28–29 March 2026. “We hope the public can take advantage of the work-from-home policy as well as the 20 per cent toll discount implemented on 26 and 27 March,” said Dudy. “From H-8 to H+3, there was a 4.07 per cent increase,” he added. In addition, public transport passenger movements increased by 11.11 per cent, although this figure remains dynamic until 29 March. On the other hand, the number of accidents and fatalities during the mudik and return flow period was recorded to have decreased by up to 28 per cent. “We hope that by 29 March, the accident and fatality rates will decrease even further,” said Dudy.
