Ramadan and Eid open opportunities to expand care. Through the Bag of Happiness programme, the Human Initiative, together with Sahabat Inisiator, distributes happiness packages to various regions in Indonesia and several countries. This programme reaches underprivileged families, orphans, disaster areas, and communities needing support in their daily lives during Ramadan. By the close of the programme, Bag of Happiness reached 100,170 beneficiaries. Distribution occurred at 612 locations across 20 provinces in Indonesia as well as four countries: Indonesia, Palestine, Uganda, and Taiwan. President of the Human Initiative, Tomy Hendrajati, stated that the programme covers various needs. The team distributed 84,511 ready-to-eat meal packages to help meet daily requirements. In addition, the team distributed 12,860 food staple packages, 2,243 new clothing packages, 534 prayer equipment items, 371 school supplies, and 1,614 goodwill gift packages tailored to needs in each region. “Over 30 days of Ramadan, we moved together with various parties. Donors, volunteers, partners, and the wider community joined in efforts to share and deliver happiness to our brothers and sisters in need,” said Tomy on Sunday (22/3/2026). Tomy emphasised that humanitarian values are a collective responsibility. “In this Bag of Happiness issue, we realise the importance of giving meaning that humanity is a responsibility for all parties, because everyone possesses humanitarian values, without exception. Therefore, we must prioritise humanitarian values towards fellow humans,” he explained. The Human Initiative, he continued, continuously evaluates every programme implementation. The team makes improvements so that future distributions run even better. “We also express appreciation to all parties who have given trust and support, not only in this Ramadan but also in previous programmes,” said Tomy. He stressed that although Ramadan has ended, community needs continue. Various humanitarian challenges still require attention and collective effort. “Togetherness makes the journey feel more directed. When carried out together, we can face challenges more effectively and reach more beneficiaries. Let us continue the collaboration of goodness with us, through the official page,” he concluded.
