Outrage as Untirta Student Caught Secretly Filming Lecturer in University Toilet

A student at Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (Untirta) has gone viral for secretly recording a lecturer in the campus toilet in Pakupatan, Serang City, Banten. The case has been reported to Polda Banten. In the circulating video, as seen by detikcom on Sunday (5/4/2026), the alleged perpetrator is caught in the act. The perpetrator is seen bowing his head while being surrounded by many people at the location. The Head of Public Relations of Polda Banten, Commissioner Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, confirmed that his side has received a report from the victim. The reporter is known by the initials LK, who works as a lecturer. “We confirm that Polda Banten has received a report regarding the alleged incident. Next, this report will be followed up by conducting a series of investigation processes,” said Maruli when contacted on Sunday (5/4/2026). The report was received by Polda Banten on 2 April 2026, with the reported party bearing the initials MZ. In the report, the victim, as a lecturer, reported an alleged criminal act as regulated in Law No. 12 of 2022 on Sexual Violence Crimes. Maruli said that his side would immediately follow up the report in accordance with applicable legal procedures. Investigators will summon parties who know or are related to the incident to gather statements and evidence. “We will summon parties who know about this incident to be asked for statements, so that the case handling can run professionally, transparently, and in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” he stated. Furthermore, he urged the public to remain calm and not speculate. Currently, the investigation process is ongoing. “We urge the public not to spread information whose truth is not yet certain and to fully surrender the case handling process to the police,” he added.
