Outrage as Former NTB Police Chief and Police Station Head Accused of Colluding with Drug Lords
A video circulating on social media features a foreign national accusing the former West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police Chief, Irjen (Ret.) Hadi Gunawan, of alleged collaboration with drug lords in North Lombok. The video also includes accusations of police involvement in the distribution of illegal drugs.
In the 22-second video viewed by detikBali, the French national with initials LR, also known as A, claims to be handling the loss of Rp 12.8 billion. He also states that he will expose the drug network allegedly involving kingpins and officials.
“It has been one month since I made a video about the police working with drug lords. Today, I am exposing all the names of the drug lords and police involved in the drug business,” he said, quoted from the circulating video on Thursday (26/3/2026).
Dragging in the Name of the Former Police Chief and Kingpins
In his statement, LR mentions several names he claims are involved in the drug network in North Lombok. He refers to the former NTB Police Chief Irjen (Ret.) Hadi Gunawan, Pemenang Police Station Head AKP Henni Adriani, and a member at the North Lombok Police Resort.
In addition, LR names three drug kingpins said to operate in the area. One of them is Mujid, described as a major kingpin in Gili Air.
“Mujid, the biggest kingpin in North Lombok. Drug kingpin in Gili Air,” he revealed.
“And from the police resort (North Lombok), the person who scammed me out of Rp 50 million,” he added.
Police Affirm the Video is Old
The Head of Narcotics Unit at North Lombok Police Resort, AKP I Nyoman Diana Mahardika, confirmed the existence of the video. However, he emphasised that it is an old recording made before LR’s arrest.
“This is an old video,” Mahardika told detikBali.
According to Mahardika, LR was previously arrested along with a fisherman with initials MUB, also known as U, from Bayan, in a methamphetamine distribution case with 0.53 grams of evidence on Thursday (1/1/2026).
Already at the Prosecutor’s Stage
Mahardika stated that LR and MUB are now suspects. Both have been transferred to the prosecutor’s office for further legal proceedings.
“Currently, the suspects have been staged to the prosecutor’s office. We have handed over responsibility to the prosecutor’s office,” he said.
Clarification and Legal Process
LR’s statements in the video have been clarified by the Professional and Security Division (Bidpropam) and the Criminal Investigation Unit of North Lombok Police Resort. Additionally, there is a report of alleged defamation currently being processed.
“At the Criminal Investigation Unit (North Lombok Police Resort), there is also a report regarding defamation. The case process for that foreigner has risen to the investigation level and suspect determination, if I am not mistaken,” he said.
