Outgoing Pos Indonesia CEO Daud Joseph Flags Restructuring Complexities to Danantara
The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) has stated it respects the resignation request of Daud Joseph from his position as President Director of PT Pos Indonesia. Danantara will immediately prepare new leadership to continue the restructuring agenda of the state-owned logistics company.
Managing Director of Stakeholders Management and Communications at Danantara, Rohan Hafas, disclosed that over the past three months, Danantara had assigned Daud Joseph to lead the overhaul of PT Pos Indonesia through a comprehensive due diligence process covering the company’s financial, operational, governance, and organisational conditions.
‘We respect the decision and will immediately prepare new leadership to continue the restructuring agenda of PT Pos Indonesia,’ Hafas said in an official statement in Jakarta on Friday.
Based on the assessment results, Hafas revealed that the outgoing director conveyed that PT Pos Indonesia requires a thorough and fundamental revamp. ‘According to him, the complexity of the issues faced and the future restructuring agenda require more specific expertise to lead the next phase of transformation,’ Hafas stated.
PT Pos Indonesia is currently undergoing a comprehensive overhaul. Hafas disclosed that the ongoing due diligence and evaluation process has uncovered various financial and governance problems that have accumulated over many years. ‘We have also received reports and found indications of various irregularities, including alleged financial engineering, which are currently being followed up through audit and investigation mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations,’ Hafas said.
He assured that the issues burdening the company will be resolved one by one, ensuring no room for practices that damage corporate governance. Furthermore, he stated that all findings will be followed up professionally, transparently, and in accordance with legal processes. ‘Our priority is to ensure PT Pos Indonesia returns to being a healthy, professional, accountable, and high-integrity company, so it can optimally carry out its mandate for the public,’ Hafas added.
Meanwhile, PT Pos Indonesia has guaranteed that the company’s operations remain smooth amid the resignation request from the president director and the ongoing corporate restructuring agenda.
