Outgoing KWP Chairman Urges New Leader to Maintain Unity Among Senayan Journalists
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The outgoing Chairman of the Parliamentary Journalists Coordinator (KWP) for the 2024–2026 term, Ariawan, has requested that the new KWP Chairman, Rafyq Panjaitan, nurture the solidarity and unity of journalists stationed at the Senayan parliamentary complex amidst increasingly dynamic political shifts.
He reminded Rafyq Panjaitan never to neglect intensive communication with all members, who represent a wide variety of media backgrounds.
Rafyq was elected as the Chairman of KWP during an election held at Wisma DPR RI, Bogor, West Java, on Friday.
“I entrust this great mandate to Rafyq Panjaitan, urging him to always provide extra attention to the values of togetherness and cohesion among all journalists within the Parliament environment,” said Ariawan.
He stated that the primary strength of a journalists’ organisation is measured not merely by the grandeur of its activities, but by the solidity of its members’ ranks when facing various situations in the field.
“KWP can only become a respected organisation with a broad impact if the new leadership is able to embrace every difference without any group feeling left behind,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rafyq expressed his readiness to embrace all lines of journalists to continue the positive legacy of the previous administration.
He committed to making KWP an inclusive space for collaboration. “The solidarity among Senayan journalists is the primary foundation of our movement,” said Rafyq.
According to him, the challenges of modern media require stronger internal consolidation to ensure the role of parliamentary journalists remains relevant and critical.
“The recommendations and advice from senior Ariawan will serve as a moral guide for the entire new management team in running the organisation moving forward,” he concluded.
