Outer Island Residents in Thousand Islands Enjoy Mobile Licensing Services

Residents of the outermost island in the DKI Jakarta area, Pulau Sabira in the Pulau Harapan Urban Village, Thousand Islands, enjoyed the Mobile Integrated Service (PTK) from the Thousand Islands Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Management Unit (UP PMPTSP) through the ‘Peduli Pulau’ programme on 23-24 July 2026. The two-day activity received an enthusiastic response from residents who utilised various administrative and licensing services, ranging from consultations to processing permit documents. Head of UP PMPTSP Thousand Islands, Wachid Wahyudi, stated that the ‘Peduli Pulau’ programme is an effort to provide public services that are closer, faster, and more accessible to communities on the outermost islands. The unit collaborated with ministries, regional apparatuses, institutions, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and regionally-owned enterprises (BUMD) to provide service convenience to the Thousand Islands community, particularly residents of Pulau Sabira. Wachid explained that the service on Pulau Sabira was conducted over two days to make it easier for the public to manage various administrative and licensing needs without having to travel to the Jakarta mainland. After the service on Pulau Sabira is completed, the programme will continue to other islands. ‘In early August, we are scheduled to provide services to the community on Pulau Untung Jawa,’ said Wachid. Resident Abdul noted that the programme greatly helps residents because services become more accessible, fast, and efficient without having to cross to another island. Meanwhile, Zulkifli (32), a resident of RT 01/RW 03, Pulau Sabira, admitted to being helped by the service. He took the opportunity to process a Cemetery Land Use Permit (IPTM). ‘Services like this are very helpful because we don’t need to leave the island to take care of permits. The process is also easy and the officers provide good explanations,’ said Zulkifli. Similarly, Yakub, a resident of RT 02/RW 03, utilised the service for consultations regarding licensing administration. ‘The presence of the mobile service makes it easier for the public to obtain information and complete administrative needs directly,’ said Yakub. Pulau Sabira is the northernmost island in the Thousand Islands, covering an area of 8.82 hectares. The outermost island is located 160 kilometres from Tanjung Priok (North Jakarta) and directly borders Lampung Province, requiring a considerable amount of time to reach the location.
