Outcomes of Purbaya, BI, OJK, and LPS Meeting: We Must Beware of Global Risks!
The Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) has announced that it will focus on monitoring the impacts of global economic pressures resulting from the ongoing war between Iran and the United States (US) and Israel in the Middle East. This comes as the outcome of the KSSK’s first-quarter 2026 periodic meeting, held between Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, OJK Chairman Friederica Widyasanti, and LPS Chairman Anggito Abimanyu. “KSSK will continue to monitor and conduct forward-looking assessments of the economy and financial sector, in line with global uncertainties as well as coordinated mitigation efforts,” stated Purbaya, as KSSK Chairman, during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (7/5/2026). Purbaya emphasised that the conflict situation in the Middle East has influenced volatility in global financial markets. Therefore, these developments must be monitored seriously, including their effects domestically. “The global situation remains full of uncertainties; we will remain vigilant,” he asserted.
