Jakarta — PT PLN (Persero) has apologised for the electricity disturbance that affected parts of Sumatra on Friday evening, 22 May 2026.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Communications & TJSL PLN, Gregorius Adi Trianto, explained that investigation results showed a fault on the 275 kV Muara Bungo–Sungai Rumbai transmission line in Muaro Bungo Regency, Jambi Province, caused by bad weather.

“At present, PLN’s team has successfully resolved the disturbance and is continuing to accelerate recovery on the generation side in stages so that electricity supply in the affected area can return to normal as soon as possible,” said Gregorius in a statement, on Friday, 22 May 2026.

He assured that PLN would continue to strive for the recovery process to proceed safely.

“People can monitor the progress of restoration information through the PLN Mobile app or other official PLN channels,” he said.

Saat dikonfirmasi, Gregorius said they were conducting an examination of the disturbances to the power system that occurred in several regions of Sumatra.
