Jakarta – The Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Asops KASAL), Rear Admiral Yayan Sofiyan, has stated that Indonesia remains secure approaching and during Eid al-Fitr due to TNI personnel continuing their vigilance across various operational areas.

According to Yayan, TNI personnel are deployed on remote, uninhabited islands, aboard naval warships on patrol in their respective sectors, and at various operational posts and task forces throughout Indonesia, including Papua.

“What I have said is that our nation is currently secure, peaceful, and so forth because there are TNI personnel who are currently faithfully (serving),” said Yayan at the Kolinlamil Wharf, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Sunday (15 March 2026).

According to Yayan, personnel serving during the Eid al-Fitr period are fulfilling a most noble state duty.

During the Eid al-Fitr extended holiday period, he noted, many TNI naval personnel are unable to celebrate the religious festival with their families as they must continue their duties.

“Nevertheless, (they) remain vigilant and steadfast in their assignments,” he stressed.

In addition, he expressed appreciation to the members of Jalasenastri (the Indonesian Armed Forces wives’ association) and military families for the continued support and prayers they offer to personnel on duty.
