SOUTH TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - The repair work on Otista Raya road, Ciputat, South Tangerang, has not been fully completed, even though the project was reportedly finished on 24th February 2026.

Several sections of the road still have potholes and potentially endanger drivers.

The Public Relations Officer of the Department of Water Resources, Highways, and Construction (DSDABMBK) of South Tangerang, Kemal Fauzie, said that the repairs were carried out by the BPJN (National Road Implementation Agency).

“During the previous repair work, they only brought three trucks of materials, so the layer was insufficient,” said Kemal when confirmed by Kompas.com, Thursday (26/2/2026).

The BPJN is said to be rescheduling further repairs to complete the remaining damaged sections.

Kemal said that the damage that has not been addressed is on the section in front of the Sari Asih Ciputat Hospital to the gas station, with a length of about 400 meters.

“They will provide a schedule for further repairs. So the remaining parts that have not been repaired will also be carried out by the BPJN,” he explained.

In several sections, the drainage channels have been normalized. However, in other sections, there is still no drainage, so rainwater often accumulates and accelerates the deterioration of the asphalt.

“From the Cimanggis Market towards the cemetery, there is indeed no drainage,” said Kemal.

As a temporary solution, the DSDABMBK together with the BPJN are adjusting the elevation of the asphalt surface so that water flows to the left side of the road, which has drainage channels.

“It was indeed made higher so that the water falls to the left because there is drainage on the left,” he explained.

The plan to build drainage on the right side of the road is currently in the discussion stage. However, there is no certainty about when the project will be implemented.

“The information is that, but I still don’t know when,” said Kemal.
