Orphans win awards

BANDUNG, West Java: One hundred high-achieving orphans were
awarded two-year scholarships by the committee of the National
Foster Parent campaign, Antara reported on Wednesday.

Funds for the scholarships were donated by PT Ariawest, a
partner of the West Java office of state-owned telecommunications
company PT Telkom.

International Ariawest President John C. Vondras presented
children with their scholarships at a ceremony attended by Vice
Governor HMA Sampurna.

The size of the scholarship fund was not reported. (swe)
