The government has raised the issuance target for the ORI030 retail bond to Rp35 trillion from Rp30 trillion in the final week of its offering, driven by robust investor appetite. The bond offers a fixed coupon and is fully guaranteed by the Republic of Indonesia, with a final tax rate of just 10% on coupons.

Simultaneously, financial markets are anticipating Bank Indonesia’s Board of Governors meeting on 21–22 July 2026, where the central bank is widely expected to raise the BI Rate by 25 basis points to 6%. The move aims to maintain rupiah stability and manage inflationary pressures. Ahead of the decision, the Jakarta Composite Index has rallied approximately 6% over eight trading days to 6,231.78, while the rupiah strengthened to Rp17,933 per US dollar.

The rise in the 10-year government bond yield to 7.29% has renewed interest in sovereign debt instruments and fixed-income mutual funds. Money market mutual funds are being considered as a liquid option for investors awaiting the rate decision, while fixed-income funds based on government securities may become attractive once bond yields stabilise. Gold, which has corrected over the past month, is also being viewed as a potential diversification tool for long-term portfolios.
