ORI: GNPP a Concrete Step Towards Public Services Free from Maladministration

The Indonesian Ombudsman (ORI) considers the National Public Service Movement (GNPP) a concrete step to ensure public services are free from maladministration. ORI Vice Chairman Rahmadi Indra Tektona stated that as a supervisory body for public service delivery, ORI is committed to strengthening oversight synergy through full support for the GNPP’s launch. “The Indonesian Ombudsman supports the GNPP launch and encourages every ORI representative to oversee the programme’s implementation in their respective regions,” Rahmadi said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday. The GNPP was launched by ORI Vice Chairman Rahmadi Indra Tektona, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini, and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, witnessed by Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman. A Joint Circular from the three institutions—ORI, the Ministry of PANRB, and the Ministry of Home Affairs—has been drafted to accelerate the improvement of public service quality nationwide and support the President’s priority programmes. The circular serves as a guideline for all public service providers to carry out concrete, collaborative, measurable, and impactful actions. Minister of PANRB Rini Widyantini stated that the GNPP is a joint movement of all public service delivery institutions, with its success measured by the increasing number of citizens experiencing good service. The movement is symbolised by the number 24/7, representing the commitment that the spirit of service must always be alive at all times, in every opportunity, and in every action of state apparatus. Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian stressed the importance of local government commitment to strengthening public services. “Hopefully, colleagues in the regions can appreciate that public service is the key to Indonesia’s survival,” Tito said.
