Ordinary people can
Ordinary people can fight corruptors
From Koran Tempo
Former president Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid has said the power of people cannot defeat the evil power of unscrupulous politicians or corruptors because the population is so big that it can be fragmented easily.
Gus Dur's negative and pessimistic tone in facing corruptors is not favorable to the nation's struggle. We should have a positive attitude and keep striving to find strong and clean leaders in the elimination of unscrupulous politicians, who have undermined national development.
In the past, the nation was united and succeeded in ridding the country of colonizers who had prevailed for centuries. At present, some of our fellow countrymen are stealing public money so we must deal with them properly via uncompromising law enforcement.
Gus Dur, a Muslim scholar, should have talked about how to find a way to deal with the evil power of corruptors. We are all capable of fighting "rotten" politicians with the help of Almighty God.
