Orderly and Solemn Flag-Lowering Ceremony, Prabowo Requests Commander to Report

President Prabowo Subianto praised the implementation of the flag-lowering ceremony for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the State Palace in Jakarta, which took place in an orderly and solemn manner. Prabowo requested the commander of the flag-lowering ceremony to report to him.

Monitoring by detikcom on Monday (17/8/2026), the Heritage Flag Hoisting Troop (Paskibraka) Team Indonesia Adil Makmur was tasked with the flag-lowering ceremony for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the State Palace in Jakarta. The ceremony commander on this occasion was Senior Commissioner Jerrold Hendra Yosef Kumontoy.

The man born on 22 February 1979 is a graduate of the Police Academy in 2003. His current position is Chief of the Balikpapan City Police, East Kalimantan Regional Police.

The ceremony proceeded until completion. Afterwards, Senior Commissioner Jerrold reported to President Prabowo Subianto.

“The ceremony has been carried out, report complete,” said Senior Commissioner Jerrold to Prabowo.

Prabowo then expressed appreciation for the flag-lowering ceremony which took place in an orderly and solemn manner. Prabowo requested the ceremony commander to report to him afterwards.

“Thank you for the orderly and solemn implementation of the ceremony, ceremony commander, corps music commander and unit commanders, report to me, continue, carry on,” said Prabowo.

“Carry on,” replied Senior Commissioner Jerrold.

As is known, the tray bearer at this year’s flag-lowering ceremony was Neeltje Deliana Insjowi Werimon. Neeltje is a representative from Papua Province, a student at SMA Negeri 8 Jayapura.

This year’s ceremony began with a procession of the Red and White flag from Monas to the Palace. The flag procession was accompanied by mounted troops and troops wearing traditional attire characteristic of the Nusantara kingdoms.

In addition to the ceremony at Merdeka Palace, the 81st Anniversary celebrations will be enlivened with a people’s party. Furthermore, there will be a carnival celebrating the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia held along Jalan Thamrin to Sudirman tonight.
