Optimus Prime Robot Accompanies Eid Travellers in 2026 on the West Bandung Route

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, WEST BANDUNG – The flow of Eid al-Fitr 2026 homecoming traffic in the West Bandung Regency (KBB) area, West Java, presents a different spectacle. A giant robot standing firmly at the Padalarang intersection captures the attention of passing travellers.

The Optimus Prime robot, the main character from the Transformers series, turns out to be the Integrated Post for Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026 belonging to the Cimahi Police. This integrated post with a robot concept is hoped to provide a more friendly and humane atmosphere for travellers, especially children.

“So we have two integrated posts, in Padalarang and Cimahi Town Square. This post has an animation or robot concept with a child-friendly nuance,” said the Cimahi Police Chief, AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra, when met on Tuesday (17/3/2026).

The post features various facilities such as a lactation room, rest room, health post, prayer room, and mobile workshop. This includes a children’s play area that aligns with the integrated post’s concept. Thus, the presence of this integrated post can better pamper travellers.

“There are facilities we provide that can be utilised by travellers. For example, if they want to rest, there is a room; if they feel unwell, they can check here; and there is a children’s play room,” said Niko.

Niko stated that the integrated post can be used by travellers at any time. Currently, the homecoming flow from the Cianjur direction towards Cimahi via the Padalarang route is ongoing but has not yet reached the peak of the Eid al-Fitr 2026 homecoming traffic.

“Currently, on the arterial route from the Cianjur direction or from the Karawang direction via Cikalongwetan, there has indeed been an increase in vehicle volume but it is not yet significant. It is predicted that tomorrow will be the peak of the homecoming flow,” said Niko.
