Optical pole collapses in Tamansari due to corrosion and excessive cable load

Jakarta (ANTARA) - An optical pole collapsed on Jalan Mangga Besar Raya, RT 015 RW 01, Tangki, Tamansari, West Jakarta, on Sunday afternoon. The commander of the Jakarta BPBD West Jakarta Regional Coordinator Platoon, Maulana Syahroni, stated that the pole fell due to corrosion and excessive cable load. “The suspected cause is that the optical cable pole has corroded due to the accumulated load of cables,” said Maulana when confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday. He explained that the pole fell onto the optical cable strands, impacting traffic at the scene. “Affected objects: optical cables and the road section,” said Maulana. Nevertheless, he assured that there were no casualties from the incident. “(Casualties) Nil,” Maulana emphasised. His team immediately responded after receiving the report at 15:48 WIB. “Handling completed at 19:36 WIB,” revealed Maulana.
