Optic fiber warehouse burnt

BANDARLAMPUNG, Lampung: The police are investigating the cause of a fire which destroyed a warehouse full of optic fiber cables worth several hundred million rupiah on Monday.

The storehouse belonging to PT.Brimbun Raya Indah, a subsidiary of the state-owned telecommunication company PT Telkom, also contained equipment and machinery.

City police chief Lt. Col. JMR Sondakh told Antara that the initial investigation suggested the fire was started by a candle being used during a power cut.

It took the crews of four fire engines three hours to put out the fire, he said. (29)
