Opposition leader's car stolen
MALAYSIA: Thieves on Friday stole a car belonging to Malaysian opposition leader Azizah Ismail, the wife of jailed former deputy premier Anwar Ibrahim, from right outside her home in a Kuala Lumpur suburb.
Azizah, who heads Parti Keadilan Nasional and leads the opposition front, said a witness saw two men stop their car outside her home. One got out, took out a key and drove off in the 10-year-old Mitsubishi Pajero in broad daylight.
"We loved the car very much and now it's gone," she said.
Azizah said she would lodge a police report over the theft but was uncertain if she could recover the four-wheel-drive vehicle, which her family used regularly to travel to Anwar's criminal trials between 1998 and 2000. --Reuters
