REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Ahmad Bahar, author of a book, is set to report the alleged kidnapping carried out by the community organisation GRIB Jaya against his son to the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya). The plan is for Bahar’s side to file the case on Friday (22 May 2026).

Wilson Colling, Deputy Chair for Legal Affairs and Advocacy of the GRIB Jaya DPP, said he does not mind if Bahar’s side wishes to report the case to the police. The issue originated from threats via WhatsApp messages addressed to GRIB Jaya’s Chairman Hercules Rosario Marshal and his wife, along with several other people.

“Well, if he says he will report, then fine, what’s the evidence? Report it. Don’t let it become a boomerang for them,” he said when contacted by reporters on Thursday (21 May 2026).

He believes the police can trace those responsible in the case. Moreover, Hercules and his wife were the first to be threatened.

Wilson added that reporting to the police would be better than Bahar’s side continuing to build a narrative as victims. After all, the number in question clearly sent threats to Hercules, his wife, and several GRIB Jaya members.

“Because the son who was brought there is connected to that number, how could he know the number of Hercules’s wife?” he said.

According to him, his side is also ready should the police later question a GRIB Jaya representative. He stated they would support the authorities in thoroughly investigating the case.

“We are ready (if summoned). The instigator is from them, how could we not be ready? Do not twist the language that he is the victim; Hercules’s family have also been subjected to intimidation and terror,” Wilson said.
