Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The latest Oppo mobile phone prices have seen a significant increase. The Reno series, long known as a mid-range handset line, is now priced up to tens of millions of rupiah. For comparison, the newly launched Oppo Reno 16 F in Indonesia is now priced starting from Rp 7,999,000 for the 8/128GB storage variant. This represents an increase of approximately Rp 2 million from the Reno 15 F, which was priced at Rp 5,999,000. Similarly, the regular Reno 16 model is now sold starting from Rp 11,999,000, a difference of more than Rp 3 million compared to the Reno 15, which was sold for Rp 8,299,000 when launched in Indonesia in early 2026. Oppo Indonesia Product Manager Deni Setiawan explained that the price increase occurred due to several factors, ranging from a global shortage of RAM memory supply to the weakening of the rupiah against the US dollar. Despite the increase, Deni claimed that Oppo is delivering capable specifications, thereby adding value for consumers. One example is the Reno 16’s use of a refreshing 3D pop-up design. ‘Just talking about this design, we made an investment to build a design that is three to four times higher than before to create this,’ Deni said after the Reno 16 series launch in Jakarta on Friday (3/7/2026). ‘To provide the best, newest design, the most different compared to others, so that young people can really pop-out when they use this handset,’ he added. Besides design, the phone’s performance has also been enhanced, including for gaming and social media experiences. Oppo has also embedded many AI features in the Reno 16 series, such as the ability to edit photos using instant collages without switching applications.
