Oppo has officially launched two new smartphones from its Reno series in China: the Oppo Reno 16 and Oppo Reno 16 Pro. Both devices share a similar design and specifications, though the Pro model includes upgrades in the chipset, display, battery, and connectivity.

The main selling point of the Reno 16 series is the camera system. Both models feature a 200-megapixel main camera (Samsung HP5 sensor), complemented by two additional cameras with identical configurations: a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (Samsung JN5 sensor) with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 116-degree field of view.

The primary differences between the two models lie in the display and chipset. The standard Reno 16 comes with a flat 6.32-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels, while the Reno 16 Pro features a larger 6.78-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2772 x 1272 pixels. Both support a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3,600 nits brightness, 10-bit colour, and high-frequency PWM dimming.

For performance, the Reno 16 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super chipset, whereas the Pro model uses the higher-end MediaTek Dimensity 9500s. Both are paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

In terms of battery life, the Reno 16 has a 6,700mAh battery with 80W fast charging. The Reno 16 Pro boasts a larger 7,000mAh battery, supports 80W wired fast charging, and also includes 50W wireless charging.

Oppo has equipped both devices with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance certifications.
