OPM Lekagak Telenggen Burns Several Houses in Puncak Papua, Residents Evacuate

The burning of residents’ houses occurred in Kampung Muara, Distrik Pogoma, Puncak Regency, on Monday (13/4) morning. The TNI Habema Operational Command patrol team, upon receiving the report, immediately headed to the scene of the incident (TKP).

“The TNI Habema Operational Command security patrol team conducted searches around the muara and the village to ensure the presence of OPM members and prevent threats to residents,” he said.

Based on drone monitoring results, the TNI observed several individuals carrying firearms near the incident location. The TNI is still conducting searches to detect the perpetrators’ whereabouts.

“The TNI will continue to enhance security patrols to prevent similar actions and ensure that public safety remains maintained in the Pogoma District area and surroundings,” he emphasised.

“Until now, security forces are still carrying out security and monitoring in the region,” he added.
