Operators warned for not using terminal

TANGERANG: The Tangerang municipal transportation agency delivered on Aug. 31 its last warning to four inter-city bus operators for not using the newly built Poris Plawad Bus Terminal to pick up and drop off passengers.

The operators have instead used their own pick-up and drop-off points.

"If these bus operators continue the practice, the administration will lose revenue from bus terminal fees," agency head Jamanat Purba said on Thursday.

"If they ignore our last warning, we will take stern measures," he added, but did not mention what the measures might entail.

Poris Plawad terminal opened late last year to replace Cimone terminal. The administration required all public transportation vehicles to utilize the new terminal and had even changed public minivan routes to include the terminal. -- JP
