Head of Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department at Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated in Subang, West Java, on Wednesday that despite the increase, traffic flow on the Cipali Toll Road section remains busy but smooth, although there are slowdowns at several points on the toll road. Based on data from midnight WIB to 8 PM WIB on Wednesday, approximately 108,000 vehicles have passed through the Cipali Toll Road from Jakarta towards Cirebon. Ardam mentioned that this traffic volume increased by up to 80 percent compared to the same period on the previous day, with an average volume of around 5,400 vehicles per hour. To avoid traffic slowdowns and maintain collective safety, Astra Tol Cipali advised all road users not to stop on the road shoulder, except in emergency situations. In line with night travel conditions, road users are also urged not to push themselves if feeling drowsy and to rest immediately at a safe location. Road users are advised to utilise the nearest rest area. If the rest area’s parking capacity is full, users can exit through the nearest toll gate to rest outside the toll road and re-enter without incurring additional fees. This is because the Trans-Java toll network transaction system uses a closed system. Thus, toll fees are still calculated based on the travel distance.
