Operational Restrictions on Trucks During Eid 2026 in Semarang: Affected Routes

Semarang – The Government has implemented operational restrictions on cargo transport vehicles on several toll road sections and arterial roads in Semarang City, Central Java, during the Eid exodus and return period in 2026.

This policy aims to maintain traffic flow and reduce the potential for congestion as holiday traveller mobility increases.

The Head of Traffic Law Unit at Semarang Metropolitan Police, Inspector Novita Chandra, stated that the cargo transport restriction regulations begin on Friday, 13 March 2026 at 12:00 WIB.

Novita explained that restricted cargo vehicles include trucks with three or more axles, including vehicles using trailers or articulated combinations.

“This includes articulated lorries with trailers and cargo vehicles used for transporting earth excavation materials, sand, stone, mining products, and building materials,” she said.

However, several logistics transport operations remain permitted during the restriction period, particularly vehicles carrying essential necessities for the public.

“And materials required for natural disaster response, including staple rice, vegetables, meat, fish, fruit, and similar items,” she added.

Non-toll road sections affected by the restrictions remain subject to the same guidelines.

This policy is expected to help maintain smooth vehicle flow during the Eid exodus and return period, particularly in the Central Java region which serves as a major route for holiday travellers.
