The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps will focus on violations that obstruct the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) system during OperationPatuh 2026. The operation is scheduled to run from 8 to 21 June 2026 nationwide. Police Traffic Corps Head of Operations, Commissioner Aries Syahbudin, stated that this year’s operation prioritises digital law enforcement. Aries explained that the main targets are vehicles with non-compliant license plates that interfere with ETLE camera readings. ‘OperationPatuh this year prioritises digital law enforcement through ETLE, and all ranks are required to maximise their support for implementation,’ Aries said during a morning parade at the NTMC Traffic Corps square on Monday, 25 May 2026, as quoted on the official Polri website. In addition to ET enforcement, the Traffic Corps will also conduct conventional fines for certain violations. One priority is drivers going against traffic flow, which Aries said requires immediate action to ensure road safety. ‘Sympathetic warnings will still be issued in specific situations where a humanistic approach is deemed more effective, but limited to 10% of cases,’ Aries said. This means each region can adjust implementation based on local traffic violation patterns and risk levels. Besides enforcement, the operation emphasises preventive and preemptive measures to increase public awareness of traffic rules. The theme of OperationPatuh 2026 is ‘Digital Transformation of Law Enforcement to foster a law-abiding and orderly traffic culture.’
