The Bekasi Metropolitan Police have strengthened inter-agency coordination to ensure preparedness for optimising security operations in the region during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah period.

“I appreciate the presence and support of all stakeholders in maintaining the security and public order situation,” said Bekasi Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Sumarni whilst leading a cross-sectoral coordination meeting at the Promoter Building of Bekasi Metro Police Headquarters on Thursday (12 March).

The police chief explained that the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H security operation is being conducted through a joint operation code-named Ketupat Jaya, running simultaneously for 13 days from 13 March to 25 March 2026, prioritising preemptive activities, preventive measures and law enforcement.

“The main objective of this operation is to provide security and comfort to the community whilst celebrating Eid al-Fitr,” she said.

Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026 in the Bekasi Metro Police jurisdiction involves 1,238 combined personnel from the National Police (Polri), military (TNI), regional government and related agencies.

A number of posts have been established to support the operation, comprising one integrated post at the Juang Tambun Selatan Museum, four security posts at strategic locations including Traffic Light Legenda, Cibitung Central Market, SGC Junction and the Kedungwaringin-Karawang Regency border.

Additionally, five service posts are located at Rest Areas KM 19A/B and KM 39 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Cikarang Kalijaya Terminal and Cikarang Station.

The police chief emphasised that Eid al-Fitr security must be able to address dynamic situations with a focus on service to the community, including joint patrols during high-risk hours, reporting services for abandoned homes, vehicle parking facilities and the securing of mudik (homecoming) routes, tourist attractions and crowded areas.

“We need all suggestions and input from all stakeholders to perfect the readiness of Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026,” she said.

Sumarni hopes that through this cross-sectoral coordination meeting, increasingly strong synergy will be built between the National Police, military, regional government and all stakeholders to create a safe, orderly and conducive situation during the mudik period and Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Bekasi Regency’s legal jurisdiction.

Operation Ketupat Lancang Kuning 2026 began implementation on Friday (13 March) until 25 March 2026.

Nationwide, Operation Ketupat 2026 will secure 185,607 facilities, including mosques, terminals, ports and airports.

Operation Ketupat 2026 is implemented nationally for 13 days, from 13 to 25 March.

The southern Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road II will be opened functionally from 15 March 2026 to ease congestion at KM 66.

These posts function not only as rest areas and public facilities for mudik travellers, but also as information centres for alternative routes and disaster-prone areas.
