Operation Ketupat 2026: National Police Secure 185,608 Locations and Deploy 2,746 Command Posts
Jakarta – Indonesia’s National Police (Polri) will secure 185,608 objects during Operation Ketupat 2026, a comprehensive security operation for Eid al-Fitr celebrations (Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah) and the associated homecoming period.
Deputy Police Chief General Dedi Prasetyo stated that the thousands of secured locations include mosques, Eid prayer sites, shopping centres, terminals, railway stations, ports, airports, and tourist attractions.
“Polri is deploying 2,746 command posts consisting of 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts to secure 185,608 protected locations including mosques, Eid prayer sites, shopping centres, terminals, railway stations, ports, airports, and tourist attractions,” Dedi said when met at the PTIK Building in Jakarta on Monday, 2 March 2026.
Dedi explained that based on a survey by the Ministry of Transport, public movement during the 2026 Eid holiday is estimated to reach 143.9 million people. This represents a decrease compared to 2025, when 146.4 million people travelled – a decline of 2.57 million people or 1.75 per cent.
To ensure smooth traffic flow during the departure and return journeys, Polri has prepared several traffic engineering measures on toll roads, including odd-even systems, one-way routes, contraflow operations, delaying systems, and buffer zones at ports.
Quick response teams have been mobilised to handle contingency situations. Beyond securing vital locations, Polri is offering vehicle parking services at police stations for those travelling for the holiday.
The 110 emergency hotline has been optimised to handle complaints, emergency reports, and public requests for police assistance.
“Polri is optimising the 110 hotline as a service channel for complaints, emergency response reports, and public needs when requiring police assistance,” Dedi stated.
