Jakarta - Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that Operation Ketupat 2026 has officially ended on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

Nevertheless, the police will continue securing the return flow through intensified routine activities (KRYD) for the next three to four days.

“Because today our operation has concluded, we will add three or four days with intensified routine activities,” the Police Chief said in his statement on Wednesday.

“This is all part of efforts to ensure that the entire mudik and return flow can be properly maintained,” he added.

Sigit explained that although Operation Ketupat is ending, the return flow is still ongoing and needs to be anticipated, including the potential emergence of a second wave.

Previously, the peak of the first wave return flow occurred on Tuesday night (24/3/2026), with 256,338 vehicles entering the Jakarta and surrounding areas.

To this end, the police, together with stakeholders, continue to implement various traffic engineering measures, such as the one-way system and contraflow, to maintain smooth traffic flow.

In addition to traffic management, the Police Chief also reminded his ranks to continue prioritising safety aspects for travellers.

He urged the public not to push themselves when tired and to utilise available rest facilities, both at toll road rest areas and on arterial routes such as service posts and integrated posts.

“So that we can truly reduce the number of traffic accidents, even though nationally it has decreased, we hope that until the return flow ends, the number of accidents will not be too significant,” Sigit stated.

When leading the Troops Roll Call at Monas, Jakarta, on Thursday (12/3/2026), Sigit emphasised that the success of securing the Eid mudik through Operation Ketupat 2026 is a collective responsibility of all involved elements.

“On this occasion, I need to reiterate that the success of this Operation Ketupat is our collective responsibility. Therefore, continue to enhance solidarity and synergy in every task implementation,” Sigit said in his directive on Thursday.
