Jakarta — The TNI and National Police, together with relevant stakeholders, have confirmed their readiness for Operation Ketupat 2026 through a troop inspection parade held at the Monument Square in Central Jakarta.

The parade was directly led by Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto.

In his remarks, the Police Chief noted that according to a survey by the Ministry of Transportation, the projected movement of people during the 2026 Eid holiday is estimated at 143.9 million people, representing a decline of 1.75 per cent or 2.5 million people, compared to 2025 which saw 146.4 million travellers.

However, he instructed his units to anticipate the possibility of increased movement given government policy stimulus measures that provide comfort and convenience for people undertaking the holiday exodus.

The Police Chief also issued instructions to personnel regarding potential public security and order disturbances, as well as hydrometeorological disaster risks.

“The success of Operation Ketupat is a collective responsibility for all of us. Therefore, we must continue to strengthen solidarity and synergy in the execution of our duties,” he stated on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

Meanwhile, TNI Commander Agus stated in his remarks that Operation Ketupat is a national agenda that must be supported through thorough preparation and synergy with relevant ministries and institutions.

He also called on TNI and Police personnel to understand their duties and responsibilities, maintain professionalism, and provide the best service to the public.

“With good synergy, collaboration, and coordination, Operation Ketupat 2026 can be implemented optimally,” he said.

The parade was followed by direct inspections of personnel, equipment, and infrastructure involved in the operation.

The theme of the parade was “Operation Ketupat 2026 Centralised Police Operation Parade in Commemoration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri Celebrations”.

The event was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Djamari A. Chaniago, Jasa Marga Chief Executive Director Rivan A. Purwantono, Jasa Raharja Chief Executive Director Muhammad Awaluddin, and the Jakarta Regional Leaders Forum.
