The Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) opened 13 points or 0.17 per cent lower at 8,221 on Friday, 27 February 2026.

Fanny Suherman, Head of Retail Research at BNI Securities, predicted the JSX would test support levels amid potential corrections during today’s trading session.

“The JSX will attempt to test support at 8,200 and if it holds there, there is potential for short-term technical rebound. However, if it breaks below 8,200, correction could extend to 8,050,” Suherman said in her daily research note on Friday, 27 February 2026.

Asia-Pacific stock exchanges showed mixed performance with the majority rising during Thursday’s trading. This followed Nvidia’s earnings report, which exceeded market expectations and eased concerns over sustained heavy spending in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.

The chip manufacturer projected first-quarter revenue above expectations, driven by aggressive spending from Big Tech companies for AI processors.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 index rose 0.29 per cent and the Topix advanced 0.97 per cent. South Korea’s KOSPI and Australia’s ASX 200 both gained 0.52 per cent. Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 1.4 per cent, China’s CSI 300 weakened 0.2 per cent, and Taiwan’s Taiex closed flat.

“JSX support levels are positioned at 8,126-8,200 whilst resistance is in the range of 8,280-8,320,” Suherman said.

Wall Street indices mostly closed lower on Thursday following Nvidia and software company Salesforce earnings reports that failed to broadly lift market sentiment.

The S&P 500 fell 0.54 per cent, the Nasdaq Composite weakened 1.18 per cent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose marginally by 0.03 per cent. The main pressure came after Nvidia shares plummeted more than 5 per cent, despite the company posting fourth-quarter 2025 earnings and revenue above expectations.
