Opening UMKM Exhibition, Gianyar Regent Encourages One Village One Product Concept
A number of micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMKM) products were exhibited as part of the 255th anniversary (HUT) of Gianyar City at the Gianyar Cultural Hall. The Regent of Gianyar, I Made Mahayastra, encouraged UMKM actors to implement the one village one product (OVOP) concept.
“This year, we are presenting something a little different. We have prepared it evenly, with each village represented by its respective strengths. With the one village one product concept, everyone is represented and everyone feels happy,” said Mahayastra in his statement on Sunday (12/4/2026).
Mahayastra stated that the concept prioritises equitable village participation. Thus, each village or UMKM actor has an equal opportunity to showcase their flagship products.
Not only encouraged to highlight flagship products, UMKM actors will also be supported by local entrepreneurs and community figures. They will shop to support those local products.
“The importance of support for UMKM as a pillar of the people’s economy, especially in facing uncertain economic conditions,” explained Mahayastra.
The UMKM exhibition was attended by 40 stalls, consisting of 33 village UMKM stalls adopting the OVOP concept and seven stalls from the Gianyar Dekranasda. UMKM actors from various villages in Gianyar had the opportunity to introduce their flagship products to the wider public, while also boosting the competitiveness of local products.
“It is hoped that the flagship village products in Gianyar Regency will become more widely known and able to improve community welfare, in line with the spirit of the Gianyar Cultural Week in welcoming the 255th HUT of Gianyar City,” hoped Mahayastra.
