Opening the Smart Quiz on the Four Pillars at Jabar Level, Ibas Reminds of the Urgency of Education for the Young Generation

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG— The Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI from the Democrat Party, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, stated that education is the primary instrument in building a strong and peaceful nation. This was affirmed by Ibas, as he is affectionately known, when he officially opened the Smart Quiz on the Four Pillars of the MPR RI at the West Java provincial level in Bandung on Saturday (11/4/2026). This Chairman of the Democrat Party Faction in the DPR RI said that the younger generation needs to be continuously encouraged to make education a provision for facing future challenges. He also quoted the views of national education figures and universal values on the importance of education as a driver of change. As Ki Hajar Dewantara said, education is guidance in the growth of the children of the Indonesian nation. “And also the world’s message that we often hear, education is the most powerful weapon that can be used to change the world. We don’t need war, we don’t need conflict, we need education wherever we study, from primary school, junior high, high school, and so on,” he continued. The Deputy General Chairman of the Democrat Party then linked the quiz to the formation of the character of the younger generation. He assessed that intellectual intelligence must go hand in hand with strengthening national character and culture so that the younger generation does not lose their identity amid the development of the times. “Today’s theme is intelligent, great, and cultured. Intelligent minds, great character of our nation’s children, and of course we must strengthen our culture so that we do not fade in the progress of the times,” said the DPR RI member from the East Java VII electoral district. Furthermore, Ibas stated that the 2026 Smart Quiz on the Four Pillars of the MPR RI at the West Java provincial level is not just a competition, but a learning space for shaping an Indonesian generation that is intelligent, characterful, and cultured.
