Opening Rakernis Slog, Police Chief Strengthens Personnel Equipment to Secure the Public
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has emphasised various efforts by Polri to strengthen personnel equipment in order to maximise public security.
“How can my members be equipped in the future with tools that truly provide security for the public,” said Sigit while opening the Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) of the Polri Logistics Staff (Slog) at the Polri Slog Building in East Jakarta on Tuesday.
On that occasion, the Police Chief also inaugurated the Slog Lab, a laboratory containing equipment to test and ensure the quality of personnel uniforms in accordance with Polri standards and specifications.
He stated that several special pieces of equipment have also been prepared for personnel tasked with handling potential riots.
In addition, Polri has prepared special uniforms for personnel serving in conflict-prone areas, including equipment designed to protect against attacks using arrows.
“In areas where conflicts often occur, where bows and arrows are frequently used, as demonstrated earlier, and alhamdulillah with the new equipment, our members can avoid potential attacks,” said Sigit.
“This is intended so that members can truly appear confident in providing a sense of security to the public,” he added.
During the event, the Police Chief also handed over around 430 operational vehicles, including electric motorcycles and patrol cars, as well as patrol equipment for conflict areas such as Central Papua.
Additionally, ambulances for emergency conditions and special vehicles for handling flood disasters were handed over.
All of this equipment is part of strengthening the support of the Polri Logistics Staff in supporting police operational duties.
With this strengthening of facilities, it is hoped that Polri personnel can be more optimal in maintaining public security and order (kamtibmas) as well as carrying out law enforcement tasks.
