Opening PPP Provincial Conference in North Sumatra, Mardiono Emphasises Importance of Regional Support Base

Ahead of the participant verification stage for the 2027 General Election, PPP General Chairman Muhamad Mardiono emphasised the importance of strengthening regional support bases for PPP cadres. Mardiono made the statement after opening the PPP Provincial Conference across North Sumatra Province at Wisma Karina, Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra, on Sunday (3/5/2026). Looking ahead, he hopes that all PPP branches in the North Sumatra region will be able to boost legislative seat gains. “In the past, North Sumatra experienced glory. We must reclaim this through real work and strong electoral strategies,” Mardiono asserted firmly. In addition, strengthening the structure down to the grassroots level must also be completed immediately. Mardiono stated that the PPP structure in North Sumatra must be finalised in a short time so that the party can move together with the people to restore public trust in the party. On that occasion, he also invited cadres to strengthen solidarity, join hands, and unite in resolving the party’s agenda. This is considering that the national political agenda is getting closer. “This is an organisational need as well as a mandate of the political party’s constitution that must be implemented. We must unite, resolve all party agendas, because we want to rise and become winners,” Mardiono said.
