Opening New Factory in Cikarang, Jotun Invests Rp 1 Trillion
JAKARTA - Global paint and coatings company Jotun has officially opened its latest water-based paint factory in Cikarang, West Java, with an investment value reaching Rp 1 trillion. This facility forms part of the company’s expansion strategy and reaffirms its long-term commitment to Indonesia. Indonesia is one of Jotun’s strategically important markets globally, ranking among the top 10 contributors out of more than 100 countries where the company operates. This is driven by growth in the construction sector and increasing demand for high-quality products suited to tropical climates. Jotun Indonesia President Director Arun Kumar stated that the opening of this factory reflects the company’s confidence in the potential of the Indonesian market and its commitment to strengthening local manufacturing. This investment aligns with the national agenda to bolster the manufacturing sector. The Ministry of Industry targets manufacturing industry growth of up to 5.51 per cent by 2026, with a contribution to GDP of 18.56 per cent. The presence of this factory is expected to strengthen domestic production bases and support the development of local industry supply chains. The new factory is projected to increase production capacity to 100 million litres per year. This is expected to ensure product availability in the domestic market, accelerate distribution, and maintain consistent quality for various project and residential needs. The facility is also equipped with modern and integrated manufacturing technology to enhance production efficiency. Meanwhile, Jotun Indonesia Head of Marketing Husodo Hoe added that the new factory enables the company to be more responsive to the evolving needs of the domestic market. In addition, sustainability principles are implemented in the factory’s operations, including the use of renewable energy and responsible waste management. Through this inauguration, Jotun reaffirms its commitment to continuously strengthening industrial capabilities while delivering globally quality products relevant to the Indonesian market’s needs.
