Opening MPR RI's Four Pillars LCC, Muzani Emphasises the Role of Education
Jakarta (ANTARA) - MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani emphasised the primary role of education in preparing human resources towards Golden Indonesia 2045 when opening the Four Pillars MPR RI Smart Quiz Competition at the South Sumatra level.
“Today we commemorate National Education Day as a form of our spirit in preparing Indonesia’s future through the path of education,” said Muzani in his speech in Palembang on Saturday, as per information received in Jakarta.
He stated that since independence, the nation’s founders have committed to enhancing the intelligence and quality of life of the people through education. Current progress, he said, is inseparable from the ongoing process of education.
According to him, the Four Pillars MPR RI LCC is not merely a competition but also a means to understand national values. The participants, consisting of students, also serve as national ambassadors with the responsibility to safeguard Indonesia’s noble values.
“You are not just participants, but national ambassadors who must love the country, understand the constitution, and preserve ancestral values,” said Muzani.
According to him, the four pillars of the nation—comprising Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika—are important to understand, especially by the youth.
To the younger generation, Muzani conveyed five important things: safeguarding Pancasila, respecting the constitution and democracy, nurturing unity in diversity, becoming an ethical digital generation, and daring to dream big with realistic steps.
“There is no Indonesia without Pancasila, and no Pancasila without Indonesia. It is we all who must safeguard Pancasila. Become an ethical digital generation capable of using technology to unite, not divide,” he said.
On the same occasion, South Sumatra Deputy Governor Cik Ujang stated that the Four Pillars MPR RI LCC has a strategic role in instilling understanding of the four national consensuses.
“This activity plays an important role in instilling and strengthening the younger generation’s understanding of national values. The Four Pillars of MPR RI form the main foundation in national and state life,” he said.
He also urged the younger generation, especially students, not only to excel intellectually but also to possess strong character, national spirit, and the ability to maintain Indonesia’s unity and integrity.
“Use this event as a means to hone abilities and broaden national insights,” advised the Deputy Governor.
