Opening Akpol 2026 Recruitment, Polri Urges Public to Beware of Scams

Polri Headquarters has prepared a special hotline for the public to report scams related to the integrated recruitment for the Police Academy (Akpol) in the 2026 fiscal year. The Head of the Public Relations Division of Polri, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, emphasised that the entire Polri recruitment process remains guided by the principles of Clean, Transparent, Accountable, and Humane (BETAH) in line with the directives of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. “The integrated Polri recruitment prioritises the principles of clean, transparent, accountable, and humane. This means the entire process is conducted objectively, openly, accountably, and upholds humanitarian values,” he stated during a press conference on Tuesday (7/4). Johnny assured that the admission route for Cadets and Female Cadets at the Police Academy (Akpol) for the 2026 Fiscal Year is only through regular selection, with no special quotas. “Akpol recruitment is only through the regular route. There are no special quotas. We urge all participants and their families not to trust parties promising success in exchange for certain payments,” he said. He explained that the number of applicants for Akpol Cadets for 2026 reaches 7,988 people. From that number, 5,432 participants have been verified and are undergoing the administrative examination stage. On the same occasion, Johnny reminded the public to immediately report if they encounter scam or brokerage practices in the recruitment process. He stated that reports can be submitted through the complaint service of the Polri Professional and Security Division, the recruitment hotline at 0821-1685-877, or through the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency and local police. “If there are parties promising success by asking for a certain amount of money, do not respond. If it has already happened, report it immediately. If it involves Polri members, it will be processed by Propam. If it involves civilians, law enforcement will be carried out according to the rules,” he stressed. Furthermore, he said that Polri is also continuously evaluating the education curriculum at police education institutions, including Akpol. The evaluation aims to strengthen personality values and eliminate violent practices, especially in senior-junior relations. “Since the 1998 reform, Polri has prioritised a civilian police culture that upholds human rights, communication skills, and a humane service approach,” he concluded.
