Opening a Marching Competition in North Sumatra, MPR Secretary General Delivers This Message
The competition is participated in by ten high schools, including SMA Negeri 4 Medan, MAN 1 Medan, MAN Serdang Bedagai, SMA Negeri 1 Buntu Pane, SMA Negeri 3 Medan, SMA Negeri 1 Binjai, SMA Al-Azhar Medan, SMA Santo Thomas Medan, SMA Harapan 1 Medan, and SMA Negeri 1 Medan.
Siti emphasised that the LKBB and LTUB competitions are organised to instil and strengthen national character among the youth. This is because the participants of these competitions represent the Millennial generation, the future leaders of the nation.
“Twenty years from now, or in 2045 when we enter Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia), these students will become the nation’s leaders. Therefore, from an early age, while they are still in high school, national character, noble values, and discipline must be instilled so that these principles serve as a guide in the future when they assume positions of national leadership,” Siti stated in her remarks on Saturday (23/5/2026).
Siti urged the winners, who will go on to compete in Jakarta, not to become arrogant. She noted that they will not only represent their respective schools but also carry the reputation of North Sumatra Province.
Consequently, they must maintain sportsmanship and foster relationships with fellow students throughout North Sumatra.
“Continue to build connections, maintain unity and integrity, and nurture brotherhood so that you become a generation that can be a source of pride, not only for your families, schools, and North Sumatra Province, but also for the Indonesian nation,” she concluded.
Also in attendance at the event were the Governor of North Sumatra, represented by the Head of Kesbangpol Dr. Ir. Mulyono S.T., M. Si., the provincial LKBB and LTUB committee, supervising teachers, and alumni of the North Sumatra Provincial Paskibraka.
