Opened! 2,843 Labour-Intensive Job Vacancies with Jakarta Minimum Wage
The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI) has opened 2,843 labour-intensive job vacancies. Workers will be paid in accordance with Jakarta’s provincial minimum wage (UMP).
“Yesterday, we happened to hold a special plenary session to anticipate existing economic pressures. Consequently, the Jakarta Provincial Government has decided to launch this labour-intensive programme,” stated the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, at the Jakarta City Hall on Friday (5/6/2026).
He noted that the labour-intensive scheme was introduced to ensure people have access to employment, expressing hope that this initiative would serve as an effort to support the local economy.
“The labour-intensive scheme is intended so that people can work; we are opening approximately 2,843 vacancies, and they will be paid an amount equivalent to the UMP in Jakarta,” he said.
Pramono mentioned that the programme is scheduled to last for three months, adding that it may be extended depending on the situation.
“But the most important thing is to create a social cushion so that people can work, which the Jakarta Provincial Government will implement during the first three months,” he explained.
He stated that the only requirement is to hold a Jakarta identity card (KTP). However, Pramono has not yet detailed the specific registration process.
“We will later extend it based on the issues that arise, opening approximately 2,843 labour-intensive job vacancies as a social cushion for families, where the only requirement is a Jakarta KTP,” he concluded.
