OpenAI Updates ChatGPT Extension for Chrome

Jakarta (ANTARA) – OpenAI has updated its ChatGPT extension for Chrome, enabling it to view open tabs and provide users with more personalised and useful answers.

According to a report by Engadget on Friday (16 October), the latest update allows ChatGPT to perform more tasks within Chrome.

When using ChatGPT Chat, users can ask the AI assistant to view the tabs currently open in Chrome to help it tailor its responses. For example, users can ask it to compare sofas open in three different tabs by dimensions, price, delivery time and returns policy.

Users could also ask ChatGPT to fill in a patient registration form for a dental clinic and then add an appointment to their calendar.

The chatbot can also analyse the terms offered by several contractors whose information is open in different tabs, then draft an email to the provider that best meets the user’s needs.

In addition, ChatGPT in Chrome’s sidebar now has access to users’ entire conversation history. This allows users to chat with ChatGPT and assign it tasks without leaving what they are doing.

The ChatGPT extension is available to all users. OpenAI said it is also compatible with other Chromium-based browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Brave and Opera.
