OpenAI launches new personal finance tool for ChatGPT Pro users
Jakarta (ANTARA) - OpenAI has launched a preview version of a new personal finance tool for ChatGPT Pro subscribers in the United States.
According to a TechCrunch report, the preview of the personal finance tool, launched on Friday (May 15), enables ChatGPT Pro users to connect their accounts and ask questions about expense analysis and financial planning.
OpenAI has partnered with Plaid, a financial connection service, to manage account connections, allowing users to connect to over 12,000 financial institutions including Schwab, Fidelity, Chase, Robinhood, American Express, and Capital One.
Once connected, users will see a dashboard displaying portfolio performance, expenses, subscriptions, and upcoming payments.
The new financial tool for ChatGPT Pro subscribers is being launched approximately one month after OpenAI acquired the team behind Hiro, a personal finance startup.
OpenAI stated that the Hiro team’s expertise in finance was instrumental in the launch of the product, but did not specify whether all of its features were developed by them.
After this step, the chatbot will guide users to connect their accounts via Plaid.
Users can disconnect connections to specific accounts by going to Settings > Apps > Finance if they wish.
Once the service is disconnected, synchronized data will be deleted from ChatGPT within 30 days. In addition, users can view and delete financial memories from the Finance page.
The company plans to introduce Intuit support in the future, which will enable analyses such as the impact of stock sales on taxes or the likelihood of credit card approval.
The company has worked with financial experts to create benchmarks for the GPT-5.5 model to improve its ability to answer questions about personal finance.
The integration of the new financial tool into ChatGPT allows users to obtain detailed answers to questions such as “Help me create a plan to buy a house in my area in the next five years.”
OpenAI stated that its personal finance tool will be available on ChatGPT for web and iOS for Pro subscribers.
The company says the product will be improved based on user feedback before being made available to Plus subscribers.
In addition to OpenAI, other artificial intelligence providers are also offering more specific services in areas such as health and finance. Perplexity launched a financial research product earlier this month.
