Open Top Tour Services Remain Open During Eid Holiday
JAKARTA - PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) has officially launched the ‘Mudik to Jakarta’ programme on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 M, as a follow-up to the directives of the Governor of DKI Jakarta to provide inclusive and affordable holiday alternatives for the public. This programme represents a concrete step by the local government to ensure that the public can enjoy a quality Eid holiday without having to travel far, while also revitalising Jakarta as an attractive urban tourism destination. The Open Top Tour of Jakarta route, Jakarta Batavia, developed in collaboration with Sarinah, features open-top buses that take passengers to explore historical areas foundational to Jakarta’s birth, while enjoying the city landscape from a different perspective. Expanding destination options, the new Jakarta Seaside route, developed with PIK Tourism, brings passengers to modern coastal areas, showcasing Jakarta’s new face as a global city with flagship tourism destinations. Transjakarta’s Director of Business and Asset Utilisation, Fadly Hasan, stated that the programme not only provides travel experiences but is also designed to encourage economic circulation and strengthen Jakarta’s tourism ecosystem. “Eid is a moment of togetherness, and we want customers to enjoy Jakarta in a different way. Through this programme, Transjakarta not only delivers customers to their destinations but also provides enjoyable, memorable, and story-filled travel experiences,” he said, quoted from an official statement on Saturday (21/3/2026). He added that customers can obtain exclusive merchandise through TJStore, as well as collect stamps from the Open Top Tour of Jakarta edition available at TJStore Pos Bloc and TJStore Ratu Plaza. “Transjakarta’s management emphasises that this programme is part of the commitment to support the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s policies in providing economical, inclusive, and quality holiday options,” he stressed.
