Open to People with Disabilities, Central Java Anniversary Job Fair Offers 4,817 Vacancies
The event, held on 20-21 August 2026, appeared crowded with job seekers since Thursday, 20 August 2026. Some brought application documents, while others sought information about companies and vacancies via mobile phones. At least 5,800 job seekers had registered through the Central Java Manpower and Transmigration Office’s application.
Head of the Central Java Manpower and Transmigration Office Ahmad Aziz said that face-to-face job fairs remain in demand even though vacancy information can be accessed online through the Ayo Kerjo platform 24 hours a day.
“Based on experience so far, conventional or offline job fairs like this are still much in demand. They can meet directly with company representatives, experience what the working conditions are like, what the position is like, and so on,” said Ahmad Aziz in a written statement on Thursday (20/8/2026).
He explained that 40 companies occupied the stands available at the event. PT Kawasan Industri Kendal also attended with eight companies, bringing the total number of companies offering job opportunities to 48.
“The vacancies offered come from various sectors, ranging from manufacturing, agriculture and heavy equipment, food and herbal medicine industries, health and pharmaceuticals, finance, tourism and hospitality, to retail,” he said.
Meanwhile, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi said the job fair serves as a bridge between the needs of companies and people seeking employment.
According to him, the event provides benefits for both parties. Companies can obtain workers according to their needs, while job seekers have broader access to available vacancies.
“On one hand, companies can get professional workers. On the other hand, people can be accommodated regardless of their origin. However, the most important thing is professionalism,” said Ahmad Luthfi.
Luthfi assessed that job opportunities in Central Java remain wide open. However, the competence of job seekers must continue to be improved to match the needs of companies.
“The job fair is also increasingly inclusive, as it opens opportunities for people with disabilities. A number of vacancies have been curated and can specifically be applied for by job seekers with disabilities,” he explained.
The Central Java provincial government hopes that the opening of job opportunities can keep pace with the growth of the workforce. In February 2026, the number of workers in Central Java reached 22.33 million people, an increase of around 455,000 people compared to the previous year.
“Meanwhile, investment realisation in Central Java in the first half of 2026 reached Rp 59.94 trillion and absorbed 213,217 workers. Incoming investment is expected to continue to have an impact on job creation and improving people’s welfare,” he explained.
A deaf job seeker named Sifa admitted to coming from West Java after learning about the job fair through Instagram. At the event, she had submitted application documents to three companies.
“I feel happy. Events like this can provide information to friends with disabilities,” said Sifa.
She assessed that the services provided to participants with disabilities were already good. Sifa hopes that more companies will open job opportunities for people with disabilities.
“I hope this event can support friends with disabilities and provide jobs and opportunities for them,” she said.
Another participant, Vivi, admitted it was her first time attending a job fair. The Semarang resident experienced a problem during check-in but then received assistance from officers until she could enter the exhibition area.
“This event helps me find work. Looking on my own is quite difficult. Because there are many vacancies, I am more motivated to apply. Even if I might not pass, I will stay enthusiastic,” said Vivi.
Meanwhile, PT JSCorp representative Ika explained that the manufacturing company based in Boyolali is opening around 300 vacancies for sewing operators. The company is also looking for workers for a number of staff positions, mechanics, foremen, quality control, and assembly.
PT JSCorp is also opening a number of positions for people with disabilities. In addition to the job fair, applicants can take part in walk-in interviews at the factory every day from 07.00 to 09.00 WIB.
“This is our first time participating and it turned out to be busy. For staff positions requiring a bachelor’s degree, there are quite a lot of applicants,” concluded Ika.
