OPEC president to visit RI

SINGAPORE (Dow Jones): Venezuela's oil minister, Ali
Rodriguez, will arrive in Indonesia Sunday to speak at the
Indonesian Investment Summit On Mining and Energy, or JIEC-2000,
and to meet his Indonesian counterpart, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono,
according to a source at the Venezuelan embassy in Jakarta
Friday.

Besides meeting with oil minister Bambang, Rodriguez will also
meet with Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid and Foreign
Minister Alwi Shihab, the source said.

Rodriguez, who is also president of the Organization of
Petroleum Exporting Countries, is on a week-long tour of OPEC
member countries to prepare for an official visit by President
Hugo Chavez in August.

Also to be discussed with the Indonesian officials is an OPEC
meeting of heads of state scheduled to be held in Caracas in
September, the embassy source said.
